My sister-in-law is in the hospital and I have been concerned. She is diabetic and her glucose level is swinging wildly from 20 (yes 20) to over 500. In addition, she was experiencing chest pains, circulation problems in her feet, and I think she had another stroke because she slurs her words and one side of her face seems frozen.
I've been also trying to transfer all my cd and dvd otr disks to the hard drive and this is taking longer than I expected. I've weeded out a lot of duplicates and obsolete files. When I first started collecting, most of my programs came from archive.org or zootradio. Since then, many of those files have been upgraded as a result of meeting people like you who have better and more complete files. The disks that are the better grade ones (like yours) are going to Uncle Paul. Sometimes he and Aunt Sharon do Christian work at nursing homes and I was hoping he could do something with them to help at the nursing home.
Well when it comes to organization, I try to keep it as simple as possible. The more you segregate things by genre etc. then it becomes more difficult to find. I always forget, would it be drama, or private detective. I simply keep all the files in folder and arrange them alphabetically under the shows title. When my hard disk if full I transfer them to disk so at least on each disk they are in alphabetical order.
I do number the disks and keep them in order. I do my best to write what is on them on the disk. There is no perfect system. I think there is a program called something like "OTR Cat" that will index your disk, however you have to pay for it.
I use OTTER because it is the easiest as far as I can see and it is free, but it does have mistakes. When I find them I edit the episode in OTTER to what I believe is the correct title, episode, etc.
Well Vista, you didn't see much ado made about that OS. To the best of my knowledge there is one problem after another. As long as what you have on your disk plays then forget it, sounds like a Vista problem to me. Although I do get messaged like that when transferring items to my mp3 player, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I often find that some files are really not mp3s and I use wavepad to save them a such then they work find.
You mean you lost your hard drive, or you bought a new one?
As far as the weather goes, I thought we had entered autumn, now I see that the temperatures for next week are up again and the humidity is back. I hope they are wrong.
At least I have grass coming up in my back garden. The winter was so hard that is spoiled a lot of peoples grass. I spent the summer babying the front garden and now it looks okay, except for all the weeds in the flower bed that came with all the rain we got. Then I took on some bad areas in the garden. The ones I have done are starting to look good, and there are a couple of areas I am still working on. It is suppose to rain this afternoon so I should get out there and finish up.
